St. Leonard’s Boys School – October 2016

Legacy Foundation Music Technology Studio Lab

Project Goals:

The Legacy Foundation Music Technology Studio Lab will usher in an enhanced approach to the delivery of
music education at the St. Leonard’s Boys School.

The lab will have 14 student digital audio work stations, each comprising of a laptop computer, midi keyboard,
audio interface and the relevant sequencing and notation software packages. Students will be exposed to beat
making sequencing, recording and notating music, all at the current international industry standards. This not
only serves to assist with their CSEC and CVQ assessments, but it also geared at improving their general
performance, musicality and appreciation of this fine art.

To assist in achieving these goals, Legacy Foundation has been generous in outfitting one of the music rooms
with equipment, so as to convert it to an up to date music lab. In addition to this technical equipment, the
Foundation has also donated about two dozen musical instruments. These include flutes, clarinets, saxophones,
trumpets, trombones, drums and guitars which will be used in the re-establishment of the school’s concert
band.
